We needed to use up a couple leftover hot dog buns from dinner the other night, so I melted a tablespoon and a half of butter, added a couple cloves of pressed garlic and a few generous pinches of oregano and parsley, spread the mixture over the buns, and popped ...

This recipe is modified from Allrecipes. I can't think of a single way to improve this, and that's saying something for a shameless recipe tinkerer like me :-)

This is a quick and refreshing summer appetizer. I made some beer bread this evening and made the tomato bruschetta topping on a whim since I had a couple nice heirloom tomatoes to use.

This was a definite success. I was trying to make a garlic bread similar to the old recipe at Buca di Beppo before they got bought out last fall by Planet Hollywood, and while I did not succeed there, I did nonetheless succeed in making a very tasty bread! ...

This is my go-to recipe for biscuits. It's adapted from The Joy of Cooking. The buttermilk lends a lovely tang. These work well as a side dish for many meals, as the base to biscuits and gravy, or as the base to many a dessert.

These were made with a recipe from Gourmet magazine, December 2004, via Epicurious. I ended up adding quite a bit more flour to make the dough workable, but they turned out very light and nice. Next time I will add a bit of salt as many reviewers recommended.

This is a slightly sweet and tangy cornbread that goes equally well with chili or with some honey for dessert. I regularly make this with either powdered buttermilk and water or with plain yogurt, so don't skip over this recipe just because you don't have buttermilk on hand.
