30 Things to Do in My 30th Year

September 28, 2010 – 6:54 pm

Well, I turn 30 tomorrow, September 29th, and, inspired by a post I saw on Made by Mike, I’ve compiled a list of 30 things I’d like to do this year.

  1. Make a weekend trip to Canada
  2. Make a loaf of sourdough bread entirely from scratch
  3. Get under 200 pounds
  4. Make the trek across the Cascades to see my grandmother
  5. Bring in homemade goodies of some sort to my office 6 times
  6. Spend a day at Pike’s Place Market
  7. Take a day trip to Whidby Island
  8. Take a picture of my fun socks at least once a month and share them on here. I love fun socks; they make me smile, and I should share that goofiness with more people. It’s only fair to warn them that I’m a weirdo, right? 😀
  9. Invite some friends and/or neighbors over for a food and fun
  10. Take Emma to the dog park at least once a month in the summer and fall
  11. Take Emma up in the Cascades to play in the snow
  12. Make pizza on the grill
  13. Enjoy a meal at the restaurant on top of the Space Needle
  14. Break in our new tent and go camping
  15. Take Emma canoeing
  16. Start up an online homemade dog treat business
  17. Take an Alaskan cruise
  18. Enjoy a spa day
  19. Learn some conversational Japanese
  20. Sell, donate, or otherwise get rid of our collection of duplicate media
  21. Take up yoga again – find a class or at least do some sun salutations on the weekends
  22. Eat tons of dungeness crab with my parents
  23. Get better at shucking oysters
  24. Share some of said oysters with my brother
  25. Plant some roses next to the front door
  26. Play Final Fantasy IX (yes, I’m hopelessly behind)
  27. Take a cooking class of some sort
  28. Learn to make a great pad see ew (thai noodle dish)
  29. Make at least one of the random cross-stiches that have been sitting in my sewing basket forever
  30. Update and modify this list as necessary (yes, I’ve run out of ideas 😛 )
