30 more things
Continuing in the tradition I started last year (see below), here’s a list of 30 things I’d like to accomplish in this year. I did pretty good last year, but still missed out on some, which I’m carrying over to this year. I’m also carrying over some that were just plain fun or something worth continuing π
- Make a weekend trip to Canada
- Use sourdough starter at least 6 times to make something fun
- 10/24/2011 – Cinnamon Apple Flatbread
- 12/31/2011 – Deep Dish Pizza
- Get down to 160 pounds
- Make the trek across the Cascades to see my grandmother
- Bring in homemade goodies of some sort to my office at least 6 times
- 10/17/2011 – Cranberry White Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
- 10/24/2011 – Cinnamon Apple Flatbread
- 2/14/2012 – Valentineβs Day Crisped Rice Treats
- Spend a day at Pike’s Place Market
- Take a day trip to Snoqualmie Falls
- Share more of my fun socks as I get them
- Invite some friends and/or neighbors over for a food and fun
- Take Emma to the dog park at least once a month in the spring, summer and fall, as weather permits
- Take Emma to at least 3 corgi meet-ups
- Make homemade smoked salmon
- Enjoy a meal at the restaurant on top of the Space Needle
- Go camping with Emma
- Take Emma canoeing
- Continue the process of starting an online homemade dog treat business
- Take an Alaskan cruise
- Enjoy a spa day
- Learn some conversational Japanese
- Signed up with Rosetta Stone program at work – free six month license!
- Sell, donate, or otherwise get rid of more of our collection of duplicate media
- Take up yoga again – find a class or at least do some sun salutations on the weekends
- Enjoy dungeness crab with loved ones
- Try out some oyster recipes in addition to continuing to enjoy them on the half shell
- 10/16/2011 – Kusshis on the half shell to celebrate 25% of my former self lost
- 10/24/2011 – Kusshis on the half shell to celebrate more weight loss
- Kusshis on the half shell throughout November and December as weight loss successes occurred
- Visit my brother in SoCal
- Plant some more flowers around the house
- Play Kirby Mass Effect
- Played Kirby Return to Dreamland with Shaun
- Take a cooking class of some sort
- Learn to make a great pad see ew (thai noodle dish)
- Make at least one of the random cross-stitches that have been sitting in my sewing basket forever
- Update and modify this list as necessary

Just before my birthday, I posted a list of 30 things to do while I’m 30. I’m keeping track of my progress here rather than editing the original post.

- First batch of buttermilk chicken bones was a big hit with my nationwide taste testing group.

- Donated a ton of paperbacks to the paperback exchange at work

- We went to Anthony’s for their Sunday crab feed on August 28th and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal and a beautiful view of the Everett marina
- Get better at shucking oysters
- Practicing on and enjoying some Quilcene oysters in October
- Some Penn Cove oysters in November
- Some Hama Hama oysters in December
- Some Sister Point oysters in December

- Sadly, I probably won’t get to share any with him in person, so I took advantage of the colder weather and FexEx having a partnership with Central Market to send him 12 Penn Cove Select oysters overnight. He got them on 12/21/2010, grilled them on the shell, drizzled with a chipotle lemon butter sauce, and enjoyed. Expensive, but triumphant and worth the effort!
- Plant some roses next to the front door
- Well, they’re not roses, but they are a perennial flower, and I like them π – Salvia caradonna flowers.
- Play Final Fantasy IX (yes, I’m hopelessly behind)
