New Couch

Friday, December 31st, 2010

For our big Christmas gift to each other, Shaun and I got ourselves a new couch. It got delivered today. It's super-comfy, reclines, and the microfiber so far seems to be much more dog hair resistant :-D

Rosemary Garlic Rack of Lamb with Roasted Pears

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

This was inspired by this Food Network recipe. The pears go quite well with the lamb, and the rosemary garlic rub is quite good. I served this with some gnocchi.     Rosemary Garlic Rack of Lamb with Roasted Pears Serves 4 1 rack of lamb, about 1.5 lbs 4 sprigs fresh ...

More Snow for Emma

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

Another lowland snow for us thanks to the La Nina pattern this winter. It was brief, but pretty heavy. We got a bit over an inch over the course of a couple hours this morning from the convergence zone storm, but we already have clear skies. Emma ...

A Nice Christmas

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

Baked French Toast à l’Orange

Saturday, December 25th, 2010

Sister Point Oysters

Sunday, December 19th, 2010

Another week, another weight loss, and some new oysters to try :-) These are from Sister Point, in the southern part of the Hood Canal. These are a little smaller variety, very briny, and some of my favorites so far! They're a little bit ...

Snugglebug Emma

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

She insisted on getting on the pillow between me and the couch arm, even though I'd been leaning there, and then she wrapped herself around my shoulder got all snuggly. She almost looks like she's trying to read my computer screen :-)
